Applying for a License or Registration to Practice Naturopathy in Idaho

The Naturopathic Doctors Licensing Exam (NDLEX) administered by the National Board of Naturopathic Examiners of the American Naturopathic Association, was admitted in the state of Idaho as the premier exam to practice Naturopathy. The NDLEX differs from the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Exam (NPLEX) used to test Naturopathic Medical Doctors and the Naturopathic Medicine profession. This differentiation has cemented Naturopathy as a licensable and regulated profession by the Idaho Board of Naturopathic Healthcare and the nation.

Registered Naturopaths may also use of Idaho code 54-5110(2) which permits individuals in Idaho to use the titles "Naturopath", "Naturopathic Doctor", or "ND".  A Registered Naturopath/Naturopathic Doctor must also comply with Idaho Admin Code r. 24.40.01.100  which requires 12 hours of annual continuing education.
